“How to Blow Up a Pipeline” Creators Suddenly Feeling Inspired After Oscars Snub

LOS ANGELES — The creative team behind the 2023 film “How to Blow Up a Pipeline” has reportedly begun working on their second feature film after feeling a sudden wave of inspiration when they discovered they were not nominated for any awards at the Oscars.

“I wasn’t sure what I wanted to work on next, but you know what? There’s actually a lot of really pressing issues that Americans need educating on. So let’s get Final Draft open because I’ve already got a title: How to Kidnap an Oscars Voter,” director Daniel Goldhaber said to the rest of the team. “Call it a political heist movie and perhaps a much-needed call to action for viewers everywhere.”

Some who worked on the first film, however, are conflicted about the potential follow-up.

“I love the work that Daniel and [star and co-writer] Ariela [Barer] do, but this new idea feels…less important?” said actor Lukas Gage. “This idea feels a lot more personal than, like, all of climate change. But maybe personal is good? Movies are supposed to be personal, right? I dunno, man, I’m just really trying to get as much work as I can so the fact that I have a small apartment doesn’t become a viral story again.”

Production on the new film, which is rumored to potentially be a documentary, has already begun, without a script. According to sources within the production, the film is centered mostly around one uninterrupted camera-shot in an undisclosed basement.
