Jonathan Majors Cast in “O.J. Simpson” Role for Naked Gun Reboot

LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Majors has been cast as Detective Nordberg in the upcoming “Naked Gun” reboot film, a role originated by athlete and accused murderer O.J. Simpson.

“We really wanted to capture the essence of the original movies. From the zany jokes and goofy puns to the violent sociopath who plays Detective Nordberg,” explained Akiva Schaffer, the director of the upcoming film. “Fans are going to love our attention to detail!”

Producer Seth MacFarlane confirmed that Simpson was approached for the role.

“Obviously, we weren’t able to get O.J. back for the new movie,” MacFarlane said. “He’s too busy.”

Actor Liam Neeson, who has been cast as Lt. Frank Drebin, spoke about the relationship he formed with Majors while on set.

“I think Jonathan is a terrific actor. And I’ve come a long way. Remember when I went up and down the streets with a cosh? I don’t do that anymore,” Neeson said proudly. “I think the movie’s gonna be great! And if not, then hopefully the other comedy that comes out that year is good.”

When reached for comment, Majors chose not to respond to the story himself, but did send us a series of text message screenshots from an ex swearing that he’s a good guy.
