WASHINGTON — Well, it looks like Mulder’s out of his mind in this one, again.
“If you don’t tell me what I need to know, it’s lights out,” Mulder said in the episode, grabbing a sock and filling it with nine volt batteries. “I’m not feeling very patient!”
Detective Mulder, famous for arriving at a crime scene and calmly diagnosing the precise supernatural nature of the events with scant evidence, also sometimes just decides to absolutely smack the fuck out of a guy for seemingly no reason at all. He will be so, so sweaty.
“Ahhhhh!!!!” Mulder will be heard saying throughout the forty-three minute runtime of “Lent No More,” as he tracks down a guy who, for some reason, makes him trade every single piece of his personality for unbridled rage.
“Mulder, are you feeling alright?” Scully will say, as Mulder does something batshit insane like sculpt gargoyles at a crime scene. She might have to, like, tie him up or chain him to a radiator or something. He’ll likely find a way to pick the lock and hotwire a car so he can get back to sucker punching petty criminals.
As events spiral, Assistant Director Skinner will ask a contemptuous Mulder what the hell he was thinking before taking him off the case, which will do precisely nothing.
