Annoying: Apparently New Prestige Show Pretty Good

A still from The Diplomat

After successfully ignoring it for a full year, many Americans have been forced to accept the possibility that a new prestige television show is honestly pretty good.

“I kept seeing The Diplomat come up on my Google TV,” said electrician Joseph Margineaux. “I was able to just file it away as a nonentity for a long time. But it’s been brought up in conversations three times this week, so I guess I have to figure out what it is. Really pisses me off.”

Being excited about watching the show does not preclude this irritation for many viewers.

“I’ve been ignoring The Penguin entirely,” said Miriam Conklin. “But everyone says it’s a delight to watch the acting and it’s remarkably subtle in thematics for a show about Oswald Cobblepot. So I’m probably going to love it — super frustrating.”

But not everyone is upset for the same reasons.

“I’m busy right now! I just don’t have time to enjoy the soul-feeding work of Harrison Ford on Shrinking, so knowing it’s good sucks!” said Pat Pappas. “Plus, I’m waiting for Severance in January to sign back up for Apple TV.”

At press time, animation fans who had written off Arcane were pinching the bridge of their nose.
